TRI-DRS is an old-fashioned raw text email list hosted on a server at Dartmouth College.

How To Subscribe
So you want to see what it's all about? Subscribing to the list is easy.

1. Send an email to: listserv@listserv.dartmouth.edu
2. In the BODY of the message type (all on one line):
subscribe tri-drs MyFirstName MyLastName

• Use your first name and last name not the words "MyFirstName" and "MyLastName"
• You may be asked to confirm your subscription by replying to an email that will be sent to you. All you need to do is hit the reply button and then the send button
• If your email automatically adds a .sig file to your emails, make sure you delete it before sending your request to the listserv
• To send a command to the listserv or to post to the list you must use the email that you subscribed with
• If you have problems adding your name to the list, please email the list owner.

How to Unsubscribe

There may come a time when you need to unsubscribe from the list. There are two options at this point: go nomail; or unsubscribe. If you're going on vacation (or leaving for a weekend to go to a race), nomail is the option to choose. If you want to leave the list more permanently or you're changing your email address, use the unsubscribe command. (When in doubt, unsubscribe.)

Nomail (use this option if you're leaving for a brief period of time)
1. Send an email to: listserv@listserv.dartmouth.edu
2. In the BODY of the message type (all on one line):
set tri-drs nomail

Unsubscribe (use this option if you want to remove yourself from the list completely - e.g. to change your email address)
1. Send an email to: listserv@listserv.dartmouth.edu
2. In the BODY of the message type (all on one line):
signoff tri-drs

• Emails are sent to: LISTSERV@listserv.dartmouth.edu (caps are optional)
• If your email automatically adds a .sig file to your emails, make sure you delete it before sending your request to the listserv
• To send a command to the listserv or to post to the list you must use the email that you subscribed with
• Please send emails in raw text. HTML and graphics are not supported, and attachments will be stripped off by the server.
• If you have problems removing your email from the list, please email the list owner with the details of the problems you are having.
