About the TRI-DRS List
The Triathletes of the Dead
Runners Society (TRI-DRS) is an email discussion list spawned from the
Dead Runner's Society (DRS) list. It is an open list
which welcomes all who have an interest in triathlon, duathlon, or multi-sport events. Its primary purpose is to provide all those who would like to talk about training for and racing in multi-sport events a facility to do so.
TRI-DRS is an old-fashioned raw text email list hosted on
a server at Dartmouth College.
TRI-DRS was started in 1994 after some badgering of the main DRS List Guy (Chris Conn) by one very persistent woman. Loreen Kail got her wish and Chris launched this affiliate
list in the summer of 1994.
This site is dedicated to the memory of Loreen Kail.
At TRI-DRS we "Tri-deads" discuss triathlon, duathlon, swimming, cycling, and
running;
post our race reports to the list; and also have time for joking,
supporting fellow triathletes, and the occasional round of smack
talk.
As of October, 2007
TRI-DRS
had 481 subscribers.
The list can occasionally generate high
volumes of mail, so some subscribers direct incoming email from the
list into a special folder.
