A Brief TRI-DRS History
This affiliate list of the
Dead Runners
Society (DRS) was started in 1994 after some badgering of the main DRS List Guy (Chris Conn) by one very persistent woman. Loreen Kail got her wish and Chris added this list in the summer of 1994.
This site is dedicated to the memory of Loreen Kail.
TRI-DRS is an old-fashioned raw text email list hosted on
a server at Dartmouth College.
At TRI-DRS we "Tri-deads" discuss triathlon, duathlon, swimming, cycling, and
running;
post our race reports to the list; and also have time for joking,
supporting fellow triathletes, and the occasional round of smack
talk.
Thom Peters took care of the website and list from the winter of 1997
to the fall of 1999.
The webmaster for www.tri-drs.org from 1999 to 2007 was Emma
Hogbin.
The list manager from 1999 to the present is Cathy
Morgan (clm).
The current (2007+) group of website volunteers is Mark Seale (our
website host), Nancy Toby (website maintenance),
Linae Boehme-Terrana, and Gabe Lopez. (They may be contacted by
members via a post to the TRI-DRS list).
Numbers on the list vary, but as of October, 2007
TRI-DRS
had 481 subscribers.
